July is here. The huge heat wave that roasted Europeans last month seems to have made its way to North America. Triple-digit temperatures (100+ degrees) are in the forecast in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic States for at least three days, with more days in the upper 90s (that’s in the “Fahrenheit” system still used in the U.S.A.; the international [Celsius] scale used by the rest of the world marks these temperatures somewhere between 37 and 38 degrees).
The “extreme weather alert” warnings definitely apply to people in my condition. I’m stuck indoors. At least we have air-conditioning. I’m still going to have to pace myself. It’s very hot right now.
