Jesus, awaken us.
Rouse us from our lukewarmness and indifference.
How little we attend to You.
Invade our lives with Your mercy.
Come, somehow, even into our distractions
and shake them up so that we turn to You.
Wound our hearts
so that they might feel alive again,
and feel the pain of themselves,
that aching longing
which is so much greater than any worldly joy,
and that only You can heal.
